These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Principal Brief services. By using our services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Services

Principal Brief provides automated data analytics and reporting services for K-12 educational institutions. Our services include data processing, analysis, insight generation, and delivery via email and web dashboards.

2. Eligibility

Our services are available to authorized representatives of K-12 school districts, charter management organizations, and educational institutions. By using our services, you represent that you have authority to bind your organization to these Terms.

3. Data Ownership

Your organization retains all ownership rights to the data you provide to us. We process your data solely to provide our services and do not claim any ownership interest in your data.

4. Data Processing

By using our services, you authorize us to:

• Access and process data from your student information systems
• Store data securely in our cloud infrastructure
• Generate insights and reports based on your data
• Send communications to authorized recipients

5. Your Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Provide accurate information about your organization
• Maintain appropriate data sharing agreements and authorizations
• Ensure only authorized personnel access our services
• Comply with applicable laws including FERPA
• Notify us promptly of any security concerns

6. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects service availability. We will provide reasonable notice of planned maintenance when possible.

7. Intellectual Property

We retain all rights to our software, algorithms, methodologies, and other intellectual property. Your use of our services does not grant you any rights to our intellectual property except as necessary to use the services.

8. Confidentiality

We will maintain the confidentiality of your data and will not disclose it to third parties except as necessary to provide our services, as required by law, or with your consent.

9. Limitation of Liability

Our services are provided "as is." We are not liable for decisions made based on our insights or for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of our services.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate service with 30 days written notice. Upon termination, we will delete your data within 30 days unless otherwise required by law or agreed in writing.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes and continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
